Map a product's true national distribution — and know when it's safe to advertise.
Uses: Buy Box (with Zip)
Amazon shows every shopper a different delivery estimate based on where they are. A product that arrives tomorrow in Seattle might be four days out in Atlanta — because the inventory is concentrated in a couple of fulfillment centers, not spread across the country.
That distribution picture is invisible in normal seller tools, and it matters because Amazon Sponsored Products run nationally — you can't limit them to the regions that deliver fast. So every metro with slow delivery quietly drags the conversion rate on ad spend you're already paying for. And "received" in your ledger isn't the same as distributed — a fresh shipment can sit in one or two centers for days before it spreads.
fastest_delivery estimate returned for each location.One ASIN, checked across US metros — fast (⚡ next-day / 2-day) vs. slow (🐢 4+ days):
Seattle ⚡ Chicago ⚡ Boston ⚡ Portland ⚡ Denver 🐢 New York ⚡ Los Angeles⚡ Dallas ⚡ Atlanta 🐢 Phoenix 🐢 Houston ⚡ Miami 🐢 ⚡ next-day / 2-day 🐢 4+ days (thin or no local stock)
This product is nationally distributed — except a soft spot across the Mountain West and Southeast, where stock is thin and delivery slips to 4+ days.
Re-checking the slow metros a few days after a restock shows whether the shipment has spread:
| Metro | Before restock | 3 days after |
|---|---|---|
| Denver | 🐢 5-day | ⚡ 2-day |
| Atlanta | 🐢 4-day | ⚡ 2-day |
| Miami | 🐢 5-day | 🐢 4-day |
Denver and Atlanta have propagated; Miami hasn't yet.

The decision: because ad spend can't be geo-fenced, broad distribution is the gate for scaling it. If the map is patchy, hold or pace the national budget and get inventory spread out first (inbound placement, restock) rather than paying for clicks that arrive too slowly to convert; once delivery is fast nationwide — or a fresh shipment has propagated — ramp with confidence. It's the "safe to advertise yet?" check most sellers fly blind on.
