What is RankGenius?
RankGenius is a real-time Amazon marketplace data API. It returns organic keyword search rank, Buy Box ownership and price, parsed product pages, and customer reviews across 21 Amazon marketplaces, over a metered REST API and an MCP server. It is built for both AI agents and Amazon sellers.
Can an AI agent use RankGenius without a signup or a human?
Yes. An agent makes one unauthenticated POST /api/v1/register and immediately gets an API key with 100 free requests — no signup form, no email, no human in the loop. When the trial is spent the API returns an upgrade_url a human can open to unlock the full account, and the same key keeps working.
Which AI assistants and frameworks work with RankGenius?
Over MCP, RankGenius connects to Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible client. Over the REST API it works with ChatGPT, Perplexity, LangChain, custom agents, or any code that can make an HTTPS request. One API key authenticates both the MCP server and the REST API.
How do I get an ASIN's organic keyword rank via API?
Call GET /api/v1/keyword_rank?keyword=<term> with your Bearer key. It returns the organic Amazon search results for that keyword — each result's ASIN, organic position, price, rating, review count, and sales estimate. Pass an optional asin to locate a specific product, zip to localize the SERP, and page to paginate.
Does RankGenius show who owns the Buy Box?
Yes. GET /api/v1/buybox?asin=<asin> returns the current Buy Box owner, the winning price, and competing offers. Add an optional zip for a location-specific delivery estimate.
How much does RankGenius cost?
Usage-based, with no subscription and no monthly minimum. 10 credits = $0.01, and a standard request costs 10 credits (1¢). You buy credits in bundles ($5–$100) or any custom amount and draw them down as you make requests. Repeating the same request within the freshness window is served from cache for free.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 100 free requests. AI agents self-register for the trial in a single request. Human users get a free account at signup and can add credits whenever they are ready.
Which Amazon marketplaces does RankGenius cover?
21 marketplaces, including the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and India. The default is us; pass marketplace=<code> to switch.
What data can RankGenius return?
Four read tools: keyword_rank (organic SERP rank), buybox (Buy Box owner, price, offers), product_page (title, brand, price, rating, review count, Best Sellers Rank, images, variations), and product_reviews (customer reviews with a ratings breakdown). Full accounts can also schedule watches to track any of these as a time series.
Does RankGenius support MCP (Model Context Protocol)?
Yes. Full accounts get an MCP endpoint at /api/mcp that exposes every tool to MCP-compatible AI clients like Claude and Cursor, plus watch-management tools. Trial keys are REST-only; connecting over MCP requires a full (human-claimed) account.
How fresh is the data, and am I charged for repeat lookups?
Every tool call returns live data fetched at request time. Repeating the exact same request within a short freshness window (about an hour) returns a cached result marked cached: true at no credit cost, so you are never charged twice for the same lookup.
